Ive been taking my Mini to this garage for its MOT and service for a number of years, but after the last visit I wont be going back, and Id advise anyone else who values their car to do the same. The MOT went fine, and I went to pick the car up as usual, and the car was parked at the back - forward facing, which looking back is strange as its the only car that was this way - but I thought nothing of it at the time. I drove back home, and its only when I parked up and went to the back of the car that I noticed the massive issue - there was a big dent in the rear panel of the car - it looked like it had been reversed into something (a pole? A bench? Who knows). So I called the garage to ask what on earth had happened. Now, if theyd have just apologised, said there was a bit of a problem but theyd fix it up - then it would have been fine - accidents happen in busy garages, I get it. But they claimed to have absolutely zero knowledge of it - despite the fact it was a proper dent, so someone must have felt some impact. On going back to the garage, they pointed out on the form that there was a circle on the back of the car on their initial form, to say there was something there. I pointed out yes, thats for this other area - I have a little patch of missing paint where someone scraped my car in a car park. This was in a different spot to the dent, quite obviously done at a different time, and I pointed out if they checked last years records theyd probably see the same mark. However, their giant circle covering the back of the car is apparently enough for them to say the damage was already there.Their solution was that they could fix the damage, if we paid towards it. So essentially, I take my car in for an MOT and service, they damage it, and then expect me to pay for that too?! Absolutely ridiculous. Obviously I walked away.
