Hard to get a parking space here. Always seem to be taken up by a Rolls Royce.
Modernish sation with ramps to platforms, so no stairs, loos are on platforms, large taxi rank outside, 10 mins walk to town centre.
Shocking customer service from the staff at this station. Last week tried to buy a family railcard. Turned up at 5.30pm and the windows were closed. Member of staff tidying up the miserable collection of leaflets. I ask if the counter will be open again. He says, "in about 15 minutes when I have finished doing this....." 10 leaflets !!! Today I go to get two student railcards. Duty manager tells me I have to get the school to sign application form. Off I go. Get signature. No good, has to be a stamp. Will not budge. Utterly belligerent. I relent, not rude. Return, no eye contact and zero interaction. The sooner they automate the whole process and get rid of these people who have no customer service skills the better as far as I am concerned.
- Refused to help me with a double charged ticket or give me any contact information to get help, simply maintained that there's nothing I can do and no one to contact despite their customer service team and train conductors saying otherwise. The (fairly) new member of staff working on Saturday as a ticket cashier was particularly rude and dismissive despite me trying to enquire in a polite manner and the ticket office being empty with two members of staff working. - Have been blocked from waiting on the platform before simply because my train wasn't for 45 minutes and revenue officer 'suspected' I might travel on a different service than the one specified on my ticket... Yes, I was treated like a criminal for turning up early for my train...
Horrible dilapidating station. The announcements don't work properly either. Needs a big refurbishment.
