Not too bad if you are buying a house but do not put your house on for sale with these guys. They might have a low fee but theres a reason; they dont actually do anything remotely pro-active. They are a Call Centre and that is all, no active salesmanship and they couldnt care less about you as an individual. They spend more time trying to catch people out than actually selling the property, are extremely rude and very very outdated in their practices. Its no wonder online agents are doing so well!! Avoid at all costs and go elsewhere, pay a little more. If you want to stay with the traditional local agent, there are some new kids on the block in Knutsford and our house sold in less than 10 days after we changed agents after 3 painful months with Gascoigne Halman. Time for shake up on these old boys.
The worst letting agents that I have ever had the misfortune to rent through. Moved into a 2 bed flat to find that the bath was sinking into the floor, the main heating in the lounge wasn't working, the sink blocked, the burglar alarm not working and leaks under the sink. Not to mention a knackered fridge. The workmen used when they came round were terrible. All my shopping lost when they replaced the fridge and flat left in a mess by other workmen. They never reimbursed me for my shopping goods either. Avoid these agents at all costs
Absolutely poor service from top to bottom. I rented from them and when I left. they put a claim on my deposit even after the checkout inventory did not highlighted any issues. It took them almost a month to make up their mind on what claims to put through DPS. I got all my deposit back after my case was referred to ADR almost 3 months after my tenancy ended. I am thinking this kind of practice would put a lot of strain on familys whos deposit they claim upon and surely anyone in need of money would give in to greedy agents making false claims. I rented from many agent never faced any problem like this. I can surely say with regards Gascoigne and Halman. Dont rent from them and if you do make sure checkin inventory is thoroughly checked and do necessary amendment within 7 days ( Gascogne Halman says amendments should reach them within 48hrs). And lastly Msg for Rebecca where is duty of care towards your tenants and looking after their interests, tenants are your customers and if they dont rent from you, your wage will not be paid, unless you have get commission or bonus to successfully claim from deposits.
Efficient, attentive and friendly service. A smooth process from beginning to end where we were regularly kept informed on the progress of our sale and purchase. Someone was always available to answer our questions however trivial. When challenges did arise, they were managed in a timely and professional way and the team often went above and beyond to keep things on track. Thanks GH!
I booked a viewing for a property the day before for 9.30am. I was told I'd be contacted to confirm this booking. I arrived for 9.30am and did not see the agent. I then had to call the company to find out that the letting agent did not want a 6 month tenancy. This was at 9.32am I should not have to contact the company to find this out! I should have been contacted the day before!
