My experiences at the Unicorn Gallery have always been positive. Peter and Becky are both very approachable and friendly. I first spoke to them when trying to find something to go with another picture that my parents had on their wall. Becky was very helpful in finding the artist and I got a picture that matched beautifully! I've also bought two paintings for my own house as gifts for my partner. These went down very well and were even very securely and tastefully wrapped for me.
I'm a novice at buying art and have found galleries a bit daunting in the past. I was pleasantly suprised that the sales assistant (Becky) was really friendly and welcoming and was happy to spend time telling me about the artists and their work. There was a good variety of art work, including some very accesible and likeable paintings, so likeable that I now have three hanging on my walls!
Avoid. We sent an enquiry about a specific artist that the gallery had previously dealt with. They advised 'i'll try' to obtain a couple of examples based on a 24x24 measurement and a specific subject. In the interim period we managed to contact the artist directly whom advised he would do a commission painting for us based on our exact requirements, we agreed a price, saw the final painting via email...The gallery then obtained a similar painting that didn't 'tick the boxes' for us so we declined their offer and politely advised we had one commissioned directly. We then received an email stating the agent / gallery had stopped our direct order from the artist as we had arranged for a commission via the gallery already!! Since when does an email enquiry, response of 'i'll try' constitute to a bespoke commission painting!! Needless to say we are now without our wedding gift and will not use the gallery in the future - there are plenty of other galleries within Cheshire.....
